My Great Evangelism Adventure, Part 1

Last year about this time I attempted to write out “my evangelism testimony,” but lost interest and gave up. I’m going to attempt to do this again for two reasons:

  1. So you will get an idea of how God can truly use anybody.
  2. I want to get this written down before all the details get too fuzzy and I start exaggerating too much.

Mostly these postings will be for me so I won’t forget about how God strung together a whole series of events to get me passionate for the lost.

On January 1, 2004, I made a commitment to share my faith everyday after hearing a New Year’s weekend message from my Pastor, Zac Nazarian.

The Video Top 5 of 2009

Out of the 30+ videos I made and posted at my blog this year, not one came even close to viral status. Nevertheless, here are the top 5 viewed (mostly by my family and me). These totals include tallies from both of my YouTube accounts here and here.

#5: Everyone loves a train wreck or someone getting hit. I was the recipient of this slap in the face at the 2009 NBA Finals while preaching at a stoplight. With a whopping 478  viewings, here are the NBA Hecklers.

#4: The infamous Michael Jackson interview at STAPLES Center continued to draw a few die-hard fans with 648 viewings.

#3: My little tutorial on how to preach at stop lights (while standing on a little pole drew the curiosity of 850 people.

#2: 1,041 people, probably angry evolutionists, gritted their teeth while watching my interview with that Prof at USC during our “Origin of Species” giveaway.

But the #1 video of the year should not come as any surprise to those who follow this blog. It is, with 1,610 views, my interview with…

The Top 6 Stories of 2009

It’s almost a new year so it’s time to look back at the top stories featured at this site. Tomorrow I’ll feature the most viewed videos and after that, a recap of the strange things we did to attempt to reach the perishing.

This year I saw my weekly average of unique visits jump from 600-700 to over a thousand. Here are the top 6 stories that hit the thousand mark.

#6: With 1,011 visits, my Michael Jackson Interview at his memorial service proved to be quite the curiosity factor. (This was the first time the thousand barrier was broken.)

#5: 1,056 people checked in to read the seven part story of our first experience evangelizing a West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade.

#4: 1,061 read about the story behind the“Origin of Species” Giveaway at USC featuring an interview with a prideful professor of evolutionary biology.

#3: When I posted the video of the  “Origin of Species” give away, 1,199 people tuned in to see it.

#2: The Michael Jackson Memorial Service was a big draw with  1,216 reading about how we were able to preach to the cordoned off crowds at The STAPLES Center in downtown L.A.

But by far, the #1 story, and the largest crowd attracted to this site, was brought about by a video that I didn’t even approve….
