It’s 2017! Happy New Year!

But why? Do you know what happened 2,017 years ago?

What happened? Simply the most significant event ever….

It’s been 2,017 years since Jesus Christ was born, that babe in the manger. Every time you look at a coin, it’s a marker of time, a reminder that Jesus Christ came into this world to seek and to save people from their sin.

Someone once said: “He has turned aside the river of ages out of its course and lifted the centuries off its hinges.”

We measure time as B.C. Before Christ, and A.D. Do you know what that means? Not “After Death.” No, A.D. stands for Anno Domini, “In the year of the Lord.” It has been changed now to “The Year of Our Lord.” The big question: Is he your Lord?

The wonderful irony of all this is that every book in the library, even those that hate God and Christianity, acknowledge that Jesus Christ was born by the dates contained within them. The former Soviet Union, an official atheistic government, has in its constitution that it was formed in 1917.

SHORTLY AFTER THE ELECTION A FACEBOOK FRIEND REBUKED THEN UNFRIENDED ME.

Admittedly, during the height of election fever I got carried away, posting clever memes that made fun of the candidate I wanted to lose. (Enjoy the samples on this post.)

After the election I got particularly bugged by those misguided college babies protesting the election results and posted quite a bit of hilarity.

No, I wasn’t at my Christian best and wasn’t too pastoral either. Though nothing was too off-base and certainly not vulgar or obscene, I could have done better.

The devil made me do it?

The worst thanksgiving service I ever saw advertised was from a liberal “church” that had a special “Thanking the Earth” ceremony.

How about this bumper sticker? “Did you thank a green plant today?”

How far away from God these people must be to thank the creation and not the Creator.

Guess Who Will Never Get Elected President?

UNLESS WE EXPERIENCE A MILITARY COUP, a thermo-nuclear war or Jesus returning, in all likelihood, by November 9, we will have as our President either Trump or Hillary. Both have endured gloves-off politicking, scandals and stupid things said and done, but, regardless, one of these two will hold the highest office in the land.

Yes, in this great nation of ours, almost anyone can make it to the top spot. The Commander-in-Chief’s shoes can be filled by nearly anybody. With enough hard work and God’s sovereignty the most unlikely of candidates can have their shot at POTUS.

Well, nearly anybody.

There is one candidate who is completely unelectable. Pigs will fly on the 12^th of Never, when Hell freezes over in a month of Sundays before this type of person makes it as our Chief Executive. Who might this be?

So far, only one sitting congressman, Pete Stark, has ever admitted to being one, and when he did, he lost his re-election bid after serving in the U.S. House for 40 years.

Former Representative Barney Frank “came out of the closet” after retiring in 2013 and 25 years past the time he came out as the first openly gay member of Congress; but, then in his memoir he backpedaled and did not want to be identified as “one of them.”

“One of what?” you ask. Hold on.

Why I’m (Still) Voting for Trump

I WANT TO EXPLAIN WHY, AS A CHRISTIAN AND A PASTOR, I’m voting for such a “sinner” as Trump, especially in light of the newest, latest outrageous, knuckle-headed, ridiculous controversies he’s been involved in, (and, I suspect, many more).

I read an article that asked this question: “Watching Christians blow off or dismiss Trump’s conduct out of fear of the alternative is one of the true tragedies of this election cycle. It’s really come to this, has it?”

That really bugged me, because I’m not blowing off nor dismissing Trump’s conduct. It’s despicable, horrendous, downright vulgar and reprehensible. Nevertheless,
