Sudden Deaths: From the California Highway Patrol

I gave the officers sitting behind the info desk at The Galleria Mall some Gospel tracts; they gave me some tracts of their own containing interesting information that will keep you from being buried 6 feet under during the holidays:

DID YOU KNOW IN CALIFORNIA:

In total, over 3,906 family members, friends & co-workers are killed and 303,102 are injured annually in traffic collisions due to traffic violations.

Over 542 family members, friends & co-workers are killed and 87,095 are injured annually in traffic collisions due to speeding violations.

Over 1,313, family members, friends & co-workers are killed and 31,205 are injured annually in traffic collisions involving the use of alcohol/drugs.

Over 1,277 family members, friends & co-workers are killed and 29,700 are injured annually in traffic collisions due to not wearing a seat belt or not being properly restrained in a child safety seat.

There is a misconception that the California Highway Patrol (CHP) writes tickets to generate revenue for its operations. Nothing could be further from the truth. The CHP receives no funding from traffic fines. We enforce the law for one compelling reason – to save your life.

Thank you officers for furnishing our DMV preachers with more vital information!
