Tatsuo Akimine had an interesting encounter while preaching in front of the Social Security office last week.
As he stood on his preaching stool, a large, well-dressed black man pushed him off. “I don’t want to hear that!” he complained. “Shut-up!”
Tatsuo calmly replied, “I’ve got First Amendment rights to be here.”
“Well, you’re violating my rights,” the big man insisted. “And if you don’t stop, I will physically deal with you.”
Tatsuo confidently climbed back on his box and resumed his preaching starting with this verse: “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words… the Son of Man will be ashamed of him….”
The man walked away.
(“Tats” has been preaching nearly everyday here and at a local DMV since August 13, 2007)
