The Unsung Heroes of the Parades

I don’t know if these guys get coverage when you watch the big parades on TV… but they get the loudest cheers from parade-goers as they meekly saunter by.

They don’t march, yet when they are applauded, they’ll sometimes stop, raise their hands, smile broadly and occasionally take a bow.

They are the necessary—and humblest—participants at the various parades the evangelism team visits, and, they too, need a Gospel tract.

Who are they?

The Pooper Scoopers!

My youngest daughter Laurel had a real heart for these lowliest of the low at the Rose Parade as she passed her Giant Money tracts to the delight of these super Pooper Scooper troopers.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.”

“Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.”

And we, due to our belief in a Risen Savior, can relate to this trifling work, because  we’re “made as the filth of the world, and are the off-scouring of all things unto this day,” (1 Cor. 4:13, KJV)

  1. Great ending to the video! 😀

  2. Love it! I always enjoy your posts…they are such an encouragement to me.

  3. Do you think that these people would want to be called “lowliest of the low”? Seems awfully insulting to me. Are any of us truly better than these people?

Perhaps you should show them more respect as individuals who are working a job rather than people for you to pity?
