Articulate Atheism

Here is a conversation direct from Godtube between a friend of mine who defends Christianity, and an atheist who hates my video “Blasphemy Challenge 666.”

AgainstAllGods: We will no longer be oppressed by the fascism of christianity!!!!!!

oldmikey: Interesting comment.

AgainstAllGods: It’s interesting because it’s true.

oldmikey: Do you honestly feel oppressed by Christianity?

AgainstAllGods: You have no Idea.

oldmikey: You have got me curious. In what way has Christianity oppressed you? Please feel free to not answer. I will understand.

AgainstAllGods: The new faith based laws. The pedophilia, Teaching kids that only abstinence will prevent STDs. Religious wars. Ted Haggard. Jerry Falwell. The ku klux klan. Right wing policy. Fascism. Segregation. Too many more to count.

oldmikey: Thanks for sharing. “Faith based laws” usually are just common sense laws. “Pedophiles”- always wrong. Catholic Church made a big mistake in the way they handled it. “Abstinence” is the best way to prevent STDs, but you are correct in that there are others. I would tend to agree with the rest of your list as not being good things. To me none of these things should cause you to feel oppressed. You are free to make your own choices and no one should be forcing you to believe in God. Peace&thanks

AgainstAllGods: Yeah you are obviously an ignorant “CENSORED”. I can’t believe I wasted my time on a “CENSORED” like you. “CENSORED” off and die.

oldmikey: Sorry that your life is so miserable that you would respond the way you did. I was just attempting to reach out in a friendly way. May you find the peace and happiness that you seek.

Actually the government sort of would count as the oppressing thing in this instance. You know- the taxing and threat of force.

Faith based laws would be laws against homosexuality, abstinence only programs, etc- things only supported by faith.

The Catholic church covered it up for 30 years. It is a “mistake” the same way the US getting involved in Nam was a “mistake”. More specifically the word to be used is “grossly immoral behavior”.

Abstinence is the best way to prevent STDs… and not breathing is the best way to prevent getting TB. Guess which one is more likely to happen?

I don’t think his life is miserable- I think he is pissed. After all, you did dismiss him so lightly and airily- try to play the nice card while completely ignoring a person’s arguments pisses them off to no end.

Technically most religions require people to believe or suffer eternal damnation.

“We will no longer be oppressed by the fascism of christianity!!!!!!” Funny that’s exactly what Marilyn Manson yelled out at his concert – probably what every teen nowadays has ringing in their ears.

from wiki: , “Marilyn Manson performed the song as the grand finale of the MTV Video Music Awards. Preceded by a marching band playing “Hail to the Chief”, Manson entered the stage flanked by mock United States Secret Service agents and, from a microphone-covered podium, delivered a speech to the audience:

“My fellow Americans:We will no longer be oppressed by the fascism of Christianity! We will no longer be oppressed by the police-state mentality. and we will no longer be oppressed by the fascism of beauty. As I see you all out there trying your hardest not to be ugly, trying your hardest to fit in, trying your hardest to earn your way into Heaven, let me ask you: Do you want to be in a place that’s filled with a bunch of !@$holes!”

Way of the Master showed this clip in their episode about “Satanism”

Hey- in the US that would be a valid statement… I mean the government DOES torture people. It isn’t facism, but it is just as bad.

And, no it isn’t Christianity because… well God did tell to. Who are you to question the president’s faith?

So, your buddy beat a 14 year old angry kid in a debate.

    Sorry, not impressed.

For the record, the KKK certainly view themselves as Christians; it’s part and parcel of their identity. Much like with the Phelps clan, I don’t have a problem with other Christians saying that these people (Phelps and the KKK) are drastically different from most Christians.
