“You know… the Gospel is important and all that,” you’ll hear someone say occasionally with furrowed brow, “but you can’t be too pushy; you don’t want to shove it down their throats.”
I have heard that a few times, have you?
Now of course, if you are just letting your little light shine, shine, shine, then you have never heard that.
This is a common sentiment expressed in Modern Christianity, though. My questions: Is it true? Can someone be too forceful during an evangelistic encounter? Is it possible to “shove” salvation down someone’s throat? Where does one draw the line between tactful and tacky?
