Forget wearing green, getting pinched or even being Irish. This day is about a man of God who cared about harvesting souls. Cheers!
“Patrick was born into a Christian family,” says Philip Freeman, author of St. Patrick of Ireland. “His father was a deacon; his grandfather a priest. But Patrick says that from an early age, he didn’t have any serious interest in religion and that he was practically an atheist when he was a teenager.”
Then he became an evangelist to Ireland after being kidnapped as a slave.
Hmmm… Something about severe trials that gives people pause to re-think God.
