SEEK HIM FIRST!

THIS IS MY LIFE VERSE.

For 33+ years it has proven absolutely true.

It’s in the context worrying. But we serve a God who commands us not to worry because he is our Father and knows what we need.

This is why we must seek him first for the rest of our lives.

It starts with spending the best part of the day with him: the morning. Make that commitment and soon you will have the confidence to say that Jesus is your everything.

Every day. This: Bible reading. Prayer. Meditation. Time with your Savior. Quality time will become quantity time.

Start with 10 minutes a day.

Pray this the night before: “Lord, I want to meet You the first thing in the morning for at least 10 minutes. Tomorrow when the alarm goes off, I have an appointment with You.”

Spend those 10 minutes like this:

Get out of bed, take care of your personal needs, then find a quiet place with just your Bible and God.

The first minute: Prepare your heart. Thank Him for the good night’s sleep and the opportunities ahead.

The next 6 minutes: Read your Bible. Your greatest need is to hear from Him. Read for the pure joy of reading and allowing God to speak. The New Testament portion in The One Year Bible will take 6 minutes.

The last 3 minutes: He spoke to you; now you speak to him. Use the word “Joy” to guide you:

J. Jesus first
O. Others next
Y. You last

After cultivating this habit, you will find that 10 minutes is not enough time.

Then soon you will you be free from worry.

Forever.
