    I do agree that in this election, Jesus would not vote either Republican or Democrat. We all know Obama’s a pro-abort, but unfortunately, so is McCain. McCain advocates killing babies for embryonic stem cell research. He voted for three pro-abortion Supreme Court justices, Breyer, Ginsburg, and Souter. He supports killing babies conceived in rape or incest. He has repeatedly voted to increase tax funding for the nation’s largest baby-killing organization, Planned Parenthood. He was a member of the “Gang of 14,” a group of senators who opposed pro-life, strict constructionist judges. He has flip-flopped many times on the issue of Roe v. Wade.

    Our allegiance should be to Christ and to righteousness, not to the Republican party. Killing babies for any reason is evil. Does God ever condone supporting evil, with our votes or otherwise?

    If you are looking for the perfect presidential candidate that represents your personal Christian values (and these vary among different people), he does not exist. I am reminded of the Old Testament where the Israelites wanted their own king and the LORD finally granted them their wish. The result was their lives became even more hellish. God set govt upon the face of this earth to serve a purpose, his purpose. That purpose in part is an instrument, which is used to hone us into what God wants us to be. It is up to us to seek His purpose first and if earthly govt tries to impose ungodly ways, principles upon us, we are to resist and instead stand strong in the Lord. How we do that is between God and each of us. I don’t know the heart of any of these people running for office. I do not hear of them speaking of God and his ways. I also know that the wheels that remain in motion in DC continue no matter who is voted in: meaning, whoever gets in stands only a small chance of effecting any real change. Things will get much worse in this country – and the world. Let God guide you in voting, and also in living your life for him. Tighten your belts, live frugally, give any extra you have to those in need and hang on: we are in for quite a ride!

    Obviously there’s no such thing as a “perfect” Presidential candidate, but I draw the line at voting for anyone who openly supports evil. We can know at least something of a candidate’s heart by the words they speak. The Bible says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” When McCain justifies the killing of innocents, that tells me something very important about his heart.

    As Chris Ortiz wrote in a recent column, “Cast your vote for righteousness, because choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. Let the Lord be honored when He looks down upon your choice, for how can He honor pragmatism? How can He honor your interpretation of the future? Is God wringing His hands at the possibility that Obama will win because a Christian stayed home, or voted for a third-party candidate? Hardly. God wants faithfulness, and if one is to seek the Kingdom and His righteousness, he must support that which best reflects God’s standards.”

    With that in mind, I can only in good conscience vote for Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate. I’ve no doubt that this country will get the President it deserves, regardless of who is elected, and I do agree with Linda about one thing–we are in for a ride.

    Hello,

    I just found the picture of us.

    Our point with the sign wasn’t to say that God is non-partisan, but that Jesus is the King of Kings, and He raises governments and casts them down at will. All of that was communicated in the tract we had for the occasion.

    We were there to preach the gospel, not to endorse a candidate or persuade anyone on any issue.

    The sign IS accurate: Jesus died a good number of centuries before either party formed. And that’s assuming he ever existed to begin with! Guy doesn’t vote at all!

    Who isn’t a values voter? I always vote based on my values, and I assume that nearly everyone else does the same.

    Ah Christian Family Values. Stoning unruly children. Or stoning brides on their wedding night if they aren’t a virgin. Not beating your slaves to death. Those family values?
