Evangelism Class Spring 2011

Here’s the first class of 2011. Thirty three people with the potential to bring about a second Great Awakening with their soon-to-be-found evangelistic zeal will be taught and trained The Way of the Master. Here is where they will post their own evangelism adventures to earn “Bonus Points” in the class.

I have had the privilege of teaching “Sharing Your Faith Without Fear” for five years now to about 1,000 people. This is roughly my 31st class. Nothing is more exciting than seeing the light bulbs go on over people’s heads when they discover “Hell’s Best Kept Secret” and how simple it is to share their faith. It is my joy and honor to be able to do this.

This is now a 10 week class with new and improved material. I’ll be happy to send a hard copy of the teaching and student notes to anyone who needs them free of charge. This has everything you need to teach, including transitions, commentary, quotes, etc. All you need to get is the videos (listed in the notes). I will have them online within the next couple of months as soon as I am done revising the curriculum.

    Hi Steve,

I would be very interested in your material. I have taught many subjects in the past and am an Adult Bible Study teacher at my home church of Immanuel Baptist Church. A few weeks ago, I taught the whole department (about 50 people) how to share their faith using the “million dollar bill”. Thanks for your encouragement!

My sons Gabriel (6 years old) and Joseph (4 years old) and I joined Pastor Steve and The Hope Chapel Evangelism Team today at LAX. We started at Terminal 1 and walked the whole loop of the airport. Passing out as a team over 2,000 tracts and having 20-30 private conversations.

I had two 1-2-1 conversations. One with a man named Paul who was a Catholic who said he would go to heaven because he’s done a lot of good works. After going through the Law and this Scripture:

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

He admitted he has no chance with his good works. We read this portion of Ephesians together 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

His friend whom he was picking up from the airport arrived so he had to go. But, he was so thankful to share with him this Biblical Truth. He said “Thank You” for taking the time to talk with me.

Thank You Jesus for Your Work and Your Righteousness. Worthy is The Lamb Who Was Slain!!!

I am 9 years old. This was thee first time I handed out a tract and I was kind of nervous, exited and scared she wouldn’t accept it. I gave an I.Q test tract to a female bank teller at U.S Bank. She looked kinda funny at it and just replyed ” Oh, thanks.” She looked like she was going to read it, but there was a long line.

I am 18 yeara old. Last Friday, I handed a tract to man coming out of the library. When he asked what it was, I told him it was a gospel tract with an important message on the back. As I left, he was looking it over, pretty interested–praise God!

I am 13 years old. I tried to give a tract to two girls. They looked at me strange and said no thanks. I was really nervous, since this was the first time I had tried to give a tract. “Go and make mistakes.” 😀

I gave a million dollar tract to a bank teller at Chase Bank. He said thanks. He also said that his cousin had one like it, except it was bigger. I was elated at my first sucess in giving someone a tract, although I could hear my heart beating loudly. 🙂

I’m Lois, a fourteen year old. I was really nervous about handing out the first tract of my life!
So when I saw a truck parked right next to the library with a man looking kind of bored of being inside an idle truck, I was almost afraid to take this oppertunity. But when I handed it to him, I was enormously encouraged when he laughed and took it gladly.
I think I’m ready to hand out anouther one!!!!

I am 11 years old. The first time I handed out a tract sucsessfully was at Chase Bank. We had finished inside and were heading toward the door when I saw two Chase Bank associates behind a desk. I ran up to them and handed each of them a tract. They took it, laughing. That really helped with my fear of handing out tracts.

The second time I handed out tracts was at a store. When we were checking out I handed a tract to the cashier. He took it and was looking at it when another man who worked there came out. I gave a tract to him and he really liked it. I gave one more man a tract before we left the store!! Praise the Lord!

The next time I gave a tract it was to a male greeter at the store. I was still kind of nervous, but more confident. I gave it to him and he took it he said, “Wow a million dollars!” ((cash)) 🙂

I’ve been leaving tracts in various places over the last year, but placing one with my signed sales check at a restaurant was the closest I had ever gotten to face to face until today. I was feeling the pressure since my son had reported to me he had already given out two earlier this week. I had some tucked in my gym bag just in case, but towards the end of the afternoon I was discouraged that I hadn’t given one out. I did pray that God would make me aware of an opportunity to share a tract.

Lo, and behold a flat tire after mini church provided the opportunity I was waiting for. After the nice gentleman changed my tire in the light rain I offered him one of the leftover cookies my shepherd had sent home with me (provision I was thankful for while waiting). I was surprised the driver accepted a cookie and I then handed him a million dollar bill telling him it was a million dollar bill. He laughed and thanked me. I prayed before and after that the driver would read the tract and it would make an impact on his life.

Last Friday night I picked up my Husband’s Aunt from work. When she got in my car, one of the first things she said to me was “What is that?”. I told her that they were tracts (I had my whole stack of tracts on my center consol). So I pulled one out and handed it to her. She has really bad eyes and couldnt read the small print (the sun was already starting to go down). So I told her a little about what it said and asked her to read it later when she got home, she said she would. The next day I got a text message from her saying that my million dollar tract was “SO inspirational that she wanted to go to church on Sunday”. She went to church that Sunday and told me that she would like to start coming to church with me and my family. I am so excited about this. My first success story and I really didnt have to do anything!!! I can only imagin how excited I am going to be when she tells me that she has been saved.

My wife and I had just left (my 2nd/my wife’s’ 1st) “Sharing Your Faith Without Fear” class and the homework was to give at least one tract away before the next class. On our way home we stop by the local Carl’s Junior and I went to work. My wife covering up her face in her while I proceeded to hand out my very first track. When the gentlemen gave me my food I handed him the tract and asked if he could kindly hand this to the car behind us. He took it and my wife hiding behind the food we drove off. I will continue to pray for God to give me the encouragement to continue to hand out as many tracts as possible. You have to start somewhere and I’m now on my way!

We had Verizon out to our house last Friday for installation. I decided I would give a tract to the tech when he finished the job. He had forgotten something, came back and then left before I could give him the tract. I thought about running after him, but stopped. I started some laundry, noticed he was still sitting out front and went out to his truck and gave him the tract. He laughed.

The tech had chatted with my husband about some court battle he was going through so I prayed he’d be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit especially in the midst of his turmoil. He had to come back yesterday because of a problem. Now I’m wishing I had asked him if he had looked at the tract.

This past week, The Lord placed in front of me many opportunities to Share The Gospel, hand out tracts and have some good 1-2-1 conversations. Had a chance to Open Air Preach Tuesday & Wednesday at The DMV, went Venice Beach last Saturday, passed out tracts to everyone at the bank last Friday. I Thank The Lord for these opportunities.

We had a man help me with some lighting work in our home on Monday. His name is Heriberto, I gave him a Spanish Tract and told him it has “la pregunta de un millon de dolares” Which is “If you were to die today Heaven or Hell” He said Heaven, because he is a “good person”. So, went through 3 commandments the 9th-Lie, the 6th- Murder/Hatred, the 7th Adultery (lust of the heart), he was humbled and admitted he would go hell.

So, he had to finish up the work, so I asked him if it concerned him, he said YES!! So, he stayed and watched this video with Paul Washer going through The Gospel—> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjYLUpHQaiE

He is married with 4 sons. Heriberto was very humbled after going through the law, and I am thankful to God for the technology to have this man listen to this video. Thanks for the prayers for this man and his family. To God Alone Be The Glory!!!

Thank You Father for your Grace and Love and Mercy and Longsuffering to send your Son and make Him who knew NO sin to BE sin, so that You can allow guilty sinners like me and my brothers & sisters in The Lord be forgiven and granted everlasting Life. Thank You Lord Jesus, I praise You and thank You and worship You with all my heart and soul!!!

I was walking out to the garage doing laundry this evening and heard my husband talking to one of his son’s friends about God or Heaven and the friend was commenting that he was a good person. I went back inside and got one of my tracts and handed it to the friend and told him there was a million dollar question on the back, if you died today would you go to Heaven or Hell? He said he didn’t care because he didn’t believe either way. I then told him to play along with “If there was a Heaven? I went through 3 of the 10 commandments which he admitted he had broken. I had to deal with another beer-drinking person who walked up at this point and kept interrupting, but after several tries he finally admitted that he would go to Hell based on breaking God’s commands. I then told him the good news that Jesus had paid his fine and he didn’t have to go to Hell, but it wasn’t an automatic thing, he had to accept the gift. He had handed the tract to the other person and tried not to take it back. He finally did, but tried to hand it back to me, but I asked him to keep it and read it later.

I will be praying for Gino and I am glad that I did see a moment of seriousness cross his face when he admitted he would go to Hell and when I told him there was a way out. I am thanking God for the boldness he gave me and the opportunity that I was given.

Once at the library I handed out a milion dollar tract to a girl on the sidewalk. She was kind of puzzled until I told her it was a gospel tract with an important message on the back that could change her life. She looked interested.

We were walking through Nordstroms after seeing a movie with our family. I gave tracts to 2 of the sales associates as they made sure the store was empty before closing. As we were exiting the doors, I could hear one start asking the other the “intelligence” test questions. Praise God for sending forth His Word- that it will not return empty!

Yesterday The Lord opened the door for me to share The Gospel with my neighbor’s father. They were having a birthday party for their daughter and invited our family as well. She has been praying to share The Gospel with her parents, but reaching family is very tough.

Her father speaks Spanish, and now I thank The Lord for using my fluency in Spanish for His Glory!!

I used personal testimony, of how I have sinned broken God’s Commandments, was in danger of God’s Wrath & Judgement. Then gently switched it over to him and asked if he’s ever done those things. The law humbled him. I warned him, if he were to die in his sins, God was give him justice and send him to hell.

Then gave him the Good News of Jesus Christ living a perfect sinless life, taking God’s Punishment & Wrath because Christ took our sin and was treated as a sinner that day on the Cross. How he paid it all, rose again on the 3rd day defeating sin & death. And, told him he must repent & trust in Christ.

We read parts of Romans 5, 1st John 5 and Ephesians 2.

This morning before leaving for work, my neighbor was going for a walk and she was crying, thankful that her father heard The Gospel. She said her father was thankful that we spoke, and he wants to talk with me again, the next time they visit.

I pray that The Lord would save him.

To God Alone be The Glory!!!

On the way to the zoo, we saw 3 girls sitting on a curb. My mom suggested we hand them some tracts. When we came to the stop light, I handed them a stack of IQ tests, which they took and started reading. Take every opportunity!

Our first open-air sermon! Each of us said a verse at a local park. Mine was “Reprnt, for the kingdom of God is near.” There were 3 adults and 1 little girl. I was pretty loud because I wanted to be SURE they heard. It wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be.

Our first open air preaching experience! We did it at the park. There were 4 people there. Each of the kids in our family said a verse. My verse was “God has demonstrated His love, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

I was really nervous, but afterwards I was glad I did it.

We got to do an evangelism adventure at North High School. The lady directing traffic even told us the best place to stand. 4 of us did it . We handed out IQ tests and million dollar bills to the students. Most of them took it with a “Thank you.” Some of them used-well- strong language. All together, we handed out over 200 hundred tracts!!! And it was really easy.

Actually getting up and shouting seemed kind of scary. But we went to the local park and got on something and shouted. All of us did part of the romans road. My part was “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” It wasn’t that bad! 🙂
