This is from student Suzanne Schwarz, off to a fast start:

Ho! The class wasn’t 10 minutes over before I was searching for people to hand out my pack of milllion dollar bills to. I gave 2 out at the gas station (God had a reason for my gas tank to be empty at that time!). One guy said thanks, the other looked puzzled. I said, “It’s a messge from God; you start out at the triangle and read it all around”. Then I had to fill up.
A few minutes later I was rear ended (not hurt) and at a lull in my time. I gave out 3 more saying we didn’t get hurt or die, but we could have!. One girl said “Oh I got one of these at the Fair” I asked “Did you read it all around?” She said no and didn’t want to get into The Question right now…

After attending Thursday night’s evangelism training, my mission was to pass out all of the tracts that were given to us. Friday night I went w/ a group to Santa Monica promenade where I passed out most of the tracts. I talked to a man & went thru the commandments w/ him& and he confessed he had broken them. Then he walked away.I prayed that he would finish reading the tract.
I gave a tract to a guy after going thru the law and gospel he says that he’s a Christian. So I asked if he’s a born again Christian,he said yes. Then I asked when was the last time he read the bible, he said that morning. Then I asked if he shares his faith,he said he does.
I talked to a couple and gave them the law and gospel.I prayed that would repent and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
I gave tracts to a couple of guys at the food court.Told them to read the back.I prayed that they would read it.
Gave a tract to a hostess and told her to read that back. She said “thank you”.I prayed that she would.
There was a guy named Luis who has a powerpoint slide that talks about atheists. He also has a fake dead body on the floor w/ a sheet over it. He says that he’s a part of Ray Comfort’s ministry. He asked me to come up to the mike after I told him I was a Christian &passing out million dollar tracts. After heavy conviction I hesistantly went up to the mike.At that point it was just me and my friends. He asked me what is the gospel?I said John 3:16.Then he asked what must one do to be saved?I said Repent and trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Then I said but I dont necessarily need a mike to evangelize(after the heavy conviction)I can approach people. He said as a Christian, God is wanting us to go to the next level and you have to try it once and find out if its your calling and this is not in his comfort zone but this is where God has called him.
I could not argue. He’s right. He continued and said if there are any athiests who want to talk, come up to the mike.By this time, a large group had gathered,so I passed out tracts everyone.I prayed they would read them.
Saturday, I went to Point Fermin park and passed out tracts to a couple and went thru the law and gospel. They listened intently.I told them to seriously think about what I had told them.

Spoke to a man, went thru the gospel w/ him.He said he needed to get right w/ God.Told him to read the bible and to do what its says and to pray.He said he would.
I spoke to a women who did not want to go thru the whole gospel message. She said she believed she was a good person& she would go to heaven even after failing 3 of the 10 commandments. So I went thru another one and she said no one is perfect. She says she is a good person because she has taken care of her husband for 30 years and he has MS.I asked her if she reads the bible, she said she doesn’t.I gave her scripture for everything she was not doing biblically but she did not want to hear it.I finally asked if I can pray for her.She said no and drove off.I pray that she would continue to think about our conversation.

    This is from Carol Nicholson:

Open air preached to a large crowd of fishermen at the pier. They listenes, and did not overhear any rebellious comments, so this was very encouraging. to be able to deliver the gospel to a huge crowd in 5 minutes, rather than more time with one or two. Praise the Lord.

Evangelized to several couples, and small groups at the pier. Using the ten commandments proved to them that they are not half as good as they think, and need to repent They were most thankful, and loved the million dollar tracts.

Armed with much encouragement from the week one Thursday night class I stuffed two million dollar bills into by trousers Friday morning. As the hours ticked by they lay there, un-handed out. Finally at 5:00 I knew I’d better be quick about executing my assignment, as the drive through at McDonalds posed my last outing for the day. I dug a MDB out of my pocket and handed it to the food service operater and told them it was their tip, and to read the back. Mission accomplished, and it wasn’t nearly as hard to do as I had expected

Visited a local pharmacy, had two MDB stuffed in the pocket. After completing my transaction I left, feeling internally dejected since I didn’t hand over the Bill when I really wanted to. I fought against the invisible force field keeping me from my goal and told my feet they had to walk back inside. They complied and I was able to hand a MDB to the nice clerk who had been so helpful to me. She received it with a smile, not bared and snarling teeth or cursing like I had imagined.

After out-patient leg surgery I left the office feeling an urgency to pass out a MDB despite my hobbled demeanor. As I waited for my husband to pick me up outside the building several persons passed by–missed opportunities. I could feel the gut-clench creep into my interior, the one that comes with hesitating to pass out The Bill. I fought it off. A fast moving UPS delivery man with a dolly full of packages was headed towards me–I made eye contact in advance and when he passed by I lobbed him the Bill, and told him to read the back.

I stuffed a couple of MDB in my pocket as a Tuesday commenced. I now think it is better to get them passed out before noon if possible, to avoid the Avoidance Syndrome that can set in (akin to rigormortis) if you wait too long. With this new strategy in place I gave one to the school crossing gurard who so faithfully helps me and my children cross the street every day. It was very encouraging to get a bill handed out before 9:00 a.m.

I was alone working at my studio at 1:30 a.m. in Torrance, located along the strip of Del Amo Blvd. between Western and Van Ness. This strip also serves as a drag strip upon occassion to fast and furious teenagers. I heard the revving of engines and screeching tires. Grabbed my MDBs and headed down the road just to be thwarted by Cops who came and chased away the potentialities. Glanced into a parking lot and saw a lone twenty-something dude looking like he didn’t want the cops to find him. I sauntered up the dark driveway and asked him, “If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell?”. I continued on with the law and gospel. He was shocked to be having this conversation at 1:30 a.m., but I got his attention. Gave him some MDBs to give to his friends.

I went to the hardware store with a MDB hanging out of my pocket on purpose. At check-out the clerk pointed at it and asked, “What’s that?”. “That”, I replied, “is the million dollar question”. I handed it to her and we made some small talk. I told her that the bill had the Ten Commandments on the back.

After getting gas I was in a line of three cars for the car wash. Much to my surprise I started unbuckling my seatbelt and exiting my car. I blotted out the nervous chatter starting to fill my brain and headed toward the captive audience. I asked the first dude the million dollar question and gave him a MDB, the second I just gave a bill to. They read it while they waited their turn and I was greatly encouraged.

I spent Saturday afternoon with Richard and some evangelists going to Redondo Beach Pier. Although I have yet to begin actually interviewing persons this was a great first step–approaching strangers and giving them bills, telling them to read the back, etc. Another “Sharing Your Faith W/O fear” student, Christina, and I paired up and had a great time keeping each other encouraged and trying out our new evangelism legs. I know like anything with practice it gets easier, so I am glad to have at least started!
