On occasion, when preaching to people who are entering a large arena for a sporting event, I’ll ask this question as a springboard before I begin my open air preaching to the fans: “Folks, I want to ask you this question: If you drank a little too much beer and fell from the top tier of the stadium today, would you go to Heaven or Hell?”

It’s a valid question. Read the following “Sudden Death” account:

CHICAGO (AP) — A stadium official says the death of 23-year-old man who fell from a concourse at Chicago’s Soldier Field during halftime of Sunday’s Bears-Eagles game appears to have been accidental. Read the rest from USA Today here.

  1. Well, while you’re on the subject (again), here’s another death. Wasn’t sudden or anything. Poor kid took forever to die.

    Your thoughts?

  2. Very sad. They should have prayed and taken the kid to the doctor. Very sad. I like that old saw: “Pray and keep your gun powder dry.”
