Ready to Go to War?

When it comes to proclaiming the truth that all have sinned by breaking God’s moral law and that the penalty is Hell, and the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, expect the firefight to begin. To mention that God is a God of wrath, a God of justice—as well as a God of love—really brings out the inner-terrorist in people.

But “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:3-4)

That’s why we use militaristic terms in classifying the four levels of our evangelism teams:

1) Prayer Warriors: They speak to the commanding officer behind the lines.

2) Foot Soldiers: They do the hand-to-hand combat by distributing lots of tracts on the front lines.

3) Snipers: These are experts in one-to-one conversations. They target the sinner and nail him in the heart with the 10 Commandments, then finish him off with the Gospel.

4) Airmen: They carpet bomb by dropping their Gospel message wherever people are gathered by preaching on a box in the open air.

And we really don’t mind if you go AWOL because that means it’s: A Way Of Life!

Wonderful perspective of who we are and what we do in our form of field and street battles. The freedom purchased for us, as individuals, by the life sacrifices of thousands upon thousands of soldiers in past and present wars is good for lifetime here on earth. But we know and preach of one who’s life sacrifice purchased a freedom for us that is good for and will last for all eternity! Onward Christian Soldiers!

I agree. The frontlines need more soldiers to fight and field support to back them up.

steve says “When it comes to proclaiming the truth that all have sinned by breaking God’s moral law and that the penalty is Hell,”

what makes you think that is a ‘truth’ Steve? Its one of many possible opinions, and at odds to many of them. This ‘Truth’ you proclaim is just opinion, when there is no evidence, no method of examining it and no way of proving it.

Well, I’m not Steve but there are several reasons we know this to be Truth.

      1) The Word of God says it is. (If you question the Word of God, there is a video I invite you to watch if you follow the link to my site and go down to the right where it says “Can We Trust the Bible?)

      2) Personal experience. The Bible says that every non-believer just “suppresses the Truth is unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18-20) and no matter how much evidence we give you, you need to the Gospel to change your heart and take you from “dead in sin” to “alive in Christ.”

Repent of your sin and Trust in the Gospel and God will grant the eyes to see the Truth.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~John 14:6

      God Bless!

      • If you are referring to the bible as the Word of God, how do you know, there is no evidence for that at all, and just saying it, doesn’t make it so.

Personal experience is not proof. Its your experience, no one else, and it cant be transferred to another.
Sin is a religions concept, one used to cause fear and to control people.

      • To Blythe.

There is much proof to back up the Bible.

Answered prophecy. (Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, Matthew 27)

        Scientific facts (Job 26:7, 28:26, Psalm 18:15)

It’s inerrancy despite being written over thousands of years by 66 authors in complete harmony on every issue.

For more, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyNseXdd260

But, above that, you should be thanking me for “causing fear”. I’m trying to make you knowledge because

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” ~Prov. 1:7

Listen to the Word, listen to your conscience, Turn from your sin and Trust in Christ and you will be saved, born again, and your fear of death and Hell will be removed! God Bless!

“’Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ~ 1 Cor. 15:55-57

While it is true that there are many opinions on this subject, there can only be one truth. It may not be what you believe, but there can only be one. It is possible that all religions can be wrong, but there is no way they can all be right. They are all very different when you really study them.

This truth that Steve proclaims is not his truth, but the Bible’s truth and there is a ton of evidence to support it if you are willing to really investigate it. Lee Strobel was an atheist and set out to disprove the Bible and Christianity to get his christian wife to stop her religious nonsense. You should check out his research in “The Case for Christ” and “The Case for Faith” and “The Case for Creator”. You might be surprised at just how much evidence there actually is.

      • Blythe

show there is one truth, and then show what that truth is.

Of course all religions are not right, they are all man made, including christianity
I have investigated, read lee Strobel many years ago and came to the conclusion there was no evidence for the case for God.I have yet to come across anything to change my mind.

      • Schmader

        Blythe,

If you added two “a”s and one “n” to “Strobel” and subracted the letters “r”,”o”,”b”,”e”,”l” from “Strobel” you would have the name “Satan”, who is the source of the fleshly, earthly, damning philosophy that men like Strobel are trying to convince the world to believe. Don’t believe the LIE.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes-his eternal power and divine nature-have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse.” (ISV)

Blythe, you and I are those people! That statement was written to show that they had the means of knowing their duty and it was within their reach, and were without excuse. Those means were in the wisdom, power, and glory of the universe, by which they (we are) were surrounded.

How long will it be before you’ll admit that God, the God of the scripture really does exist?

Blythe you could argue that we live in one of an infinite number of parallel universes but in this universe You need Jesus.

You don’t need string theory to figer that one out!

      That’s the TRUTH.

Repent and believe the Gospel, today preferably.

Why would God approve of co-opting military language to accomplish goals set out by his believers?

After all, God didn’t set this goal out; you evangelicals did. If God set out a goal, he’d achieve it with less effort than it takes to write bad religious tracts.

      Whateverman,

If you spent more time reading the Bible, more time on your knees praying for understanding and guidance and less time pursueing your atheist agenda… you might get some knowledge dropped on you from above and finally know what time it is.

      • theB1ackSwan

And tell us, in precise detail, what “agenda” is this? What is on that agenda?

      • your atheist agenda

Would assuming, incorrectly, that I’m an atheist constitute bigotry, Schmader?

You’re willfully ignorant of what my agenda actually is, the proof of which you’ve eagerly provided us here.

Our tracts get results!! Why? Because the message is directly from the word of God!
And, speaking of “co-opting military language” as you put it, the Apostle Paul describes the Christian life as being similar to a soldiers life (1 Corinthians 9:7). When speaking of other Christians he calls them fellow soldiers (Philemon 2), and he even goes as far to call Christians the “soldiers of Christ” in 2 Timothy 2:3; but at no time is there ever a sense where I am a solider and another person is the object of a military attack. We’re always to speak the truth in love! (Eph. 4:15)

    And now, if you will be kind enough to join me in song;
    A1 and A2 and-
“Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war” :<)

That’s a lie, Steve. God never used the military terminology; YOU inserted that all by yourself.

The “message” you communicate is human.

Answered prophecy. (Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, Matthew 27)
    Scientific facts (Job 26:7, 28:26, Psalm 18:15)

Isaiah 53 – the writer of the gospel knew of Isaiah, and tailored the ‘life’ of Jesus to suit. Psalm 22 – the words they pierced my hands… etc are not found in early Hebrew texts,
Job 26.7 The Bible also says that the earth is fixed in place (1 Chron 16:30, Psalms 93:1, Psalms 96:10). Job 28.26, not sure what is unusual about that, simple observation would have made that known even then. Psalm 18.15, again there is nothing in there that could not be observed even back in those times.

    Matt say
It’s inerrancy despite being written over thousands of years by 66 authors in complete harmony on every issue.
The list of contradictions is very long. The gospels don’t agree on many details.
I don’t live in fear, not of death or of your belief system.

      Name ONE!!!

      • theB1ackSwan

There’s quite a few, but we’ll start with merely one and see how you do.

Who’s the father of Joseph? The gospels of Luke and Matthew disagree on this.

      • Matt 28
        Mark 16
        Luke 24
        John 20

        the stories all differ.
Of course you will have ‘explanations’ for these very different accounts, you will attempt to explain these away, but go for it, lets see what ‘rationale’ you can come up for why the writers cannot even agree on who went to the tomb, and who was there.
If there was a God and he had anything to do with writing any parts of the bible, one would expect that the stories would at least have the details correct.

Of course I am interestd in the truth. You are saying is that I am not because I disagree with your version? You know nothing about me, yet you sit there and say Im not interested in the truth?
You need to understand that your truth is only your opinion of the truth, many many others disagree, and you have not offered any reasonable explanation for your version (that I have seen).
