Open Air: AT THE DMV by Richard Chavarria

I got up early Wednesday morning and prayed (4: 20 AM) and asked God to help me, to strengthen me, and to give me wisdom to say what is right. I had committed to doing open air 8 days ago at the Torrance Department of Motor Vehicles, but did not know exactly how to begin. Should I use a box for elevation? Do I needed to get permission? Will the security guard stop me?
null As I was getting ready to leave it came to me: I needed to keep it simple. So to that end, I familiarized myself with the language on the back of the Million-dollar bill Gospel tract. I would pass them out to folks standing in line and then simply read the back of the bill.

I got to the DMV office and I could see about twenty-five people already standing in line. I started to get real nervous. My plan was to wait until just before opening, pass out the millions, then preach. Instead I jumped out of the car and walked around the parking lot and prayed again for strength and courage.

I gathered myself, stood next to the people and began my “sermon.” “I want to ask the the million dollar question. If you died to day would you go to Heaven or Hell?” I didn’t read from the back of the bill and I didn’t use elevation; I just spoke to folks as earnestly as possible.

When I got back to my car I was so excited I was shaking and praising God.

I can’t wait to do it again.
