On a Sad Note

I recently got this email from a heart-broken reader of this blog.

“Today I witnessed the death of my grandmother. She was 94 and died a ‘natural’ death; it was sobering and profound, as this was the first time I had seen things I had only read about in the Bible: To see the life of an unrepentant non-born again person who heard the Gospel repeatedly for 25 years and apparently rejected it; to see and hear their words, attitudes, as well as the reaction of unbelieving relatives; like Scripture says: ‘without hope.’

“But my reaction is more reverence for God and more amazement at His grace, more gratitude to the Lord Jesus for my salvation, and more conviction of how real our faith is.”

I’m very sorry to hear of this reader’s loss. My condolences.

94 is a good age though; we should all be so lucky!
