Mob O’ Mormons

At Walmart I had the opportunity to talk to not one, but five Mormons as they filed out  with their extremely discounted products. Monday is apparently shopping day for this cult.

I handed one of them a Gospel tract and asked if they were good enough to enter Heaven. “We are saved by the sacrificial work of Jesus,” one of the 19-year-old “Elders” replied.

This is true for all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus, but for Mormons they believe in a different Jesus: Their Jesus is the spirit brother of Lucifer. Their Jesus is not God in the flesh. If you don’t believe in their Jesus, you go to the third heaven, or what I call, “The Lame Heaven.”

I always try to tell them about these differences in our beliefs.

“Here’s the deal,” I explained. “If I don’t believe like you believe, I go to the Lame Heaven.”

“Correct.”

“But, if you don’t believe like I believe, you go to Hell. Big difference, huh?”

Suddenly another mob of Mormons appeared to listen in. The leader did not like what I had to say. “I don’t get any peace from what you are saying; the Holy Spirit certainly isn’t in what you are saying.”

 Then they all walked away.

Of course, he was referring to a different holy spirit.
