mini-vangie: Beach Ball

I didn’t want to go.
But I made a commitment for an “Hour of Power” each Friday evening from 5-6pm to share my faith with as many people as I can, and hand out as many gospel tracts as possible in that one hour. I was alone and had a bit of trepidation and wasn’t even sure where I would go, so I headed down to Pier Ave. I was a bit wary of going there again because just two weeks ago we handed out over 15,000 gospel tracts and I thought the place would be saturated, but by faith I drove on down. WHAM! I hit the jackpot!
The Association of Volleyball Professionals were setting up for a big tournament on Saturday and there was a pre-contest concert just starting— and hundreds upon hundreds were arriving. Now in Hermosa Beach there are one hundred and fifty people for every one parking spot so I prayed, “Lord, if you want me to witness I need a space. Bing! A guy pulled out of his spot and I cruised right on in.
I spoke to about 8 different people about the Lord before discovering a wooden pathway on the sand leading into the just-beginning concert. I positioned myself there and proceeded to hand out over 400 gospel tracts in the remaining half hour.
And only two people returned them!

Haha…there’s nothing like having the Lord on your side when you need a parking space, huh? 🙂
