Hard Truth Told

And from the DefCon Blog:

I wonder if the murder of these 248 children will get as much attention (including around the clock news coverage) as the Colorado murders. Methinks the answer, sadly, is no.

Why? Because murdering 12 people in a movie theater is a crime, but murdering 248 children in their mothers’ womb is a “choice.”

I have never taken the life of a human… in or out of the womb, but just the fact that I’ve hated someone puts me in that “special class” of being a murderer in God’s eyes! (1 John 3:15) There’s no getting around it; the unrepentant will face God’s wrath on the day of judgement.

How thankful I am for his mercy and grace through His dear son!

But, almost humorously, being a murderer (or using an evangelical to-go tactic – enabler of genocide) would put one in the exact same group with someone who’s never killed anyone but told his/her sweet grandmother that he/she loved the hand-knit Christmas tree sweater, when in reality he/she doesn’t care for it.

Doesn’t really matter what the crime is, by God’s supposed standards.

Some say it’s wrong to compare these two issues…

Yeah, it’s wrong. Sorry that you can’t understand why.

Its been estimated that close to ONE Billion unborn children have been aborted around the world. Thats about the same population as India.

My deepest, deepest sympathies to the victims and families of the victims of this hideous, tragic crime, and to the victims of all gun violence in America and abroad.

I’m so sorry you were used so shamelessly by the man who writes this blog to promote an agenda that causes suffering and pain to innocent women forced by circumstances to terminate their pregnancy for their own health and to minimise the suffering of the child.

Steve: I have nothing to say to you.

Quasar your using the classic logical fallacy of appealing to emotions, the facts are otherwise. Less then 1% of all abortions are the result of pregnancy by Rape. So now we left with the other 99% So tell us what so called “circumstances” force a woman to kill her unborn child?

I have personally known several women that had several abortions each, not one of these women were in poverty. The problem was SELFISHNESS. they did not want to compromise their lifestyle by having a child in the way.

This is a narcissistic generation who’s heart is waxed cold and only cares for its own pleasures and will kill or sacrifice an unborn child to maintain it.

RyanShirtz there are about 26,000 stillbirths a year. Please tell me who is to blame for this? How come there are so many naturally occurring abortions?

No one is saying here that abortion should be a birth control option. There are circumstances where abortion should be allowed. I don’t think outlawing it outright is the answer.

        Yes, The Shaming.

We know, because you all don’t hide it too well.

      • Quasar your using the classic logical fallacy of appealing to emotions,

Says the person who immediately follows up with an argument by anecdote. An implausible one, too.

There’s a pretty big difference between appealing to emotions to prove a point, and simple expressing emotions because Steves despicable actions utterly horrified me.

Less then 1% of all abortions are the result of pregnancy by Rape.

Read my comment again, please. Now tell me where I so much as implied anything about rape.

By the way, I am already aware of the statistics on abortion: they are highly dependant on trimester. The ‘selfish’ (according to you) reasons for abortion drop sharply in incidence at the end of the first trimester.

This is a narcissistic generation who’s heart is waxed cold and only cares for its own pleasures and will kill or sacrifice an unborn child to maintain it.

What was that again about “the classic logical fallacy of appealing to emotions”, Ryan?

        @Steve L.

I have tried to post links to medical sites in the past. Steve just deletes those. Let me try.

“It is estimated that up to half of all fertilized eggs die and are lost (aborted) spontaneously, usually before the woman knows she is pregnant. Among those women who know they are pregnant, the miscarriage rate is about 15-20%…”

“The majority of embryos die within a few weeks of conception. This fact is widely known within medical circles, but
is a surprise to many in the general public. Embryo death
due to natural causes is known as spontaneous abortion and
        occurs very frequently”

You know, since the Bible doesn’t speak out against abortion at all (and even gives a recipe for an abortifacient in Numbers 5:19-25 – which wouldn’t work, but still…), I think it’s a little odd that you place so much energy into your opposition.
