God Has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life

This may be old news to some, but it’s still good news…

Our church, Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach, sold 10 cases of “God Has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life” during our weekend services. This book gives the method of using the Law in a Gospel presentation in 1/3  the pages of The Way of the Master book.

A few weeks later, we sold five more cases. All we did was set up a table with a nice glass vase outside the sanctuary and had people drop their $1 into it using the honor system (they are Christians, remember). Congregants bought multiple copies for their friends even giving them to people standing in line who didn’t have exact change!

And this is a publication about Biblical evangelism! EVANGELISM!

Nothing beats a book for a buck.

Except this: FREE! You can get a copy for free by clicking here.

As much as I hate to admit it, the book and audio thing posted elsewhere have given me something to think about.

I gave “God has a Wonderful Plan for your Life” to my pastor and he told me he read it in one day. Then his wife picked up and by now she has finished it. My pastor went on to tell me that he liked it so much that he went online and bought one. I didn’t get a chance to tell him he could get one free from Living Waters. My pastor told me that he really likes the method of using the ten commandments with the gospel. Now I just pray he would start preaching it to the church. Please pray that he would and praise God for this situation!

So, does the book actually detail what God’s plan is, or does it just tell you to preach the gospel and somehow you’ll just “find out”?

If it were the former, it might be worth reading, since that’s something no Christian has ever been able to elucidate…

DormantDragon, the title is a gag, as indicated by the content of the cover. The book is all about how God doesn’t have a wonderful plan for your life and your life will pretty much suck just as much as it did before you converted as it did before. And if you preach people won’t really like you, and some of you may even suffer persecution. There is quite a bit of ‘your interpretation of the scripture is wrong, my interpretation is right’ going on too.

Ray also spends time with statistics showing how ineffective most evangelism is and offers his way (The Way of the Master) as a solution. Curiously, he doesn’t seem to have any statistics showing that his way is actually any more effective. According to Ray, there is no need to follow up on true converts because, well, because true converts won’t need it and false converts, are, well, false converts and won’t need it.
