Evangelism Weekend: Armed Forces and Gay Pride Parades

This is an action packed weekend for adventurous evangelists. We have 2, count ’em, 2 parades this weekend:

On Saturday, May 18, we are going to the largest Armed Forces Day Parade west of the Mississippi in Torrance! Meet at noon on the northeast corner of Torrance and Madrona Blvds., specifically at 3331 Torrance Blvd in front of the plunge on the grassy strip. Dennis and Rachael Liebregt will be leading. Call 310-374-4673 x.121 for more info on how to contact them.

And on Sunday, it’s the 3rd largest Gay Pride event in the country: The Long Beach Pride Parade. Meet at Hope Chapel at 8:30AM to carpool. Here’s an interview with a parade-goer at last year’s West Hollywood Pride Parade:

Why don’t you leave our parade alone, we dont need you guys here. And while you are at it, leave the gay pride parade alone. You guys should just worry about yourselves and not everyone else.
Do you think your disprectful protest will actually change anyone minds?

To any closeted LGBT folks out there:

There is nothing wrong with your sexuality, any shame you feel is just a cultural thing, you can let it go and be loved for who you are.

Yes, you can be loved for who you are as long as you live in this world, and given the current climate in our country, yes, you will not feel much shame in this liberalized culture that has rejected God.

But, if you want to be loved by God and forgiven of your sins, like the sin of lying (if you’ve ever done that, then you are a liar), or stealing (ever done that?) or misused God’s name which is blasphemy, or looked with lust which Jesus calls adultery, if you’ve sinned even one time, including the sin of homosexuality, then you will be found guilty and end up in Hell.

But God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, suffered and dies for all your sins, was buried for three days and rose again. If you, Tommy Wou, or any other person reading this puts your trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross and turn away from your sin, then God will forgive you.

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Please Tommy, consider this. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them. Please reply back.

To put things in perspective, heterosexual fornication is also a sin, and if Hugh Hefner were sponsoring a “love parade” in LA, I’d expect to see Steve there, too.

What is being presented here is the opportunity for forgiveness from sins–lying, stealing, all sex outside of a real marriage (one man, one woman), murder, idolatry, anger, hatred, and more.

Now if you happen to have saved lives with a white lie, you might have hope that God will let that one slide. But, quite frankly, I’m guessing that not too many people have had that opportunity. We’ve all got sins we need to repent of.
