E-vangie Tales #4 They Ain’t All Saved in Church

Hi Everyone,

It’s easy to take for granted that everyone who comes to church is a Christian, but sometimes they are just nice “church people”.

I’ve been taking papers to be typed to a very nice lady I’ll call “Nancy”. She’s been attending Hope Chapel for many months so I assumed that she knew the Lord. As I was dropping off my latest batch of papers to be typed, I just thought to ask her if she was going to Heaven.

She replied, “I think I am”.
Nancy is 82 years old and had gone to church for many years before growing tired of it. She checked out Hope Chapel, liked Pastor Zac’s preaching and stayed, but never made a profession of faith.

I explained that I knew with absolute certainty that I was going to Heaven and that I wanted to see her there too!

She asked me to sit down and stay awhile, so I did.

I then explained what happened in the Garden of Eden, then the Gospel and asked her if she would like to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She said she would have to think about it. I reminded her that there may not be that much time left. She said that she didn’t know how to pray.

I responded, “Heck, that’s not a problem. Just follow along after me and we’ll pray together!”

She agreed, and the angels celebrated another homecoming.

It never hurts to ask.
