Did Nothing… and Something

The stated goal on my short vacation was “Do nothing,” (at the suggestion of my beautiful wife). It was sound advice. So while I was at the monastery, I did nothing but read, rest, and spend lots of time with God—it was probably the best time I ever had with Him! Still, He opened a few doors each day to share my faith.

I was struck by this quote as I was reading a book about Spurgeon: “Tell your hearers something, dear brethren, whenever you preach, tell them something, tell them something!”
Sharing the Gospel, by the way, doesn’t count in the category of “Do nothing.”

    Good to hear that. 😀

I hope your quiet and rest time was really good. It reminds me of when Jesus went to have some time of solitude.

It’s so necessary to just take the time and meditate on the Word and listen to what God is saying.
