Seriously. This is part of an email I received as SPAM from the Woman’s Media Center in regard to the 30 second spot sponsored by Focus on the Family: “With 200,000 of your letters in hand, the WMC is not backing down. Join [us] as we continue to hold CBS and the NFL accountable for their biased policy reversal in favor of Focus on the Family’s anti-choice, anti-woman, homophobic agenda.”
Now watch the video and see what the fuss was all about. Any explanation would be helpful.
Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume has publicly offered advice for the wayward Tiger Woods—and got a lot of flack for it
On Fox News Sunday, Hume said he believed Woods to be a Buddhist, but that, in his opinion, that religion did not offer the pro-golfer the redemption and forgiveness he needed.
“My message to Tiger would be, ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world,’” he said.
“Now we know that the content of his character is not what we thought it was. He is paying a frightful price for these revelations. My sense about Tiger is that he needs something that Christianity, especially, provides.” —From Citizenlink.org
This is a TV commercial from the New Moment, New Ideas Company for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Ministry of Education and Science. This is part of a social campaign (series of commercials) aimed at promoting education.
Headline of commercial: “Religion is knowledge, too. Bringing religion back to school.” Headline of campaign: “Knowledge is power.”
Whether Einstein as a student really answered in this way is probably urban legend. Regardless, the point is made. Read this article from Stand to Reason called “What Science Can’t Prove.”
Taking advantage of lax security at Ray Comfort’s 60th birthday party held on Saturday night, I strolled up to the tenth floor of the Living Waters headquarters, waved my hand in front of the face of the guest list checker and hit the dance floor which was themed “A Gospel Winter Wonderland.” I wasn’t aware that a few atheists were attendance; one of them shot this incriminating video that has recently gone viral on YouTube! Boy, can Dawkins cut the rug!
Two weeks ago we did something that enraged atheists and evolutionists alike: A team of 17 went on the hallowed campus of the University of Southern California and handed out 2,599 copies of Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species” with a special 50 page introduction by Ray Comfort that included, among other things, Darwin’s hatred of women, his influence on Hitler, and his denigration of black people. Also, it contained a few of the many flaws of his theory.
Pirantube: “Thank you for posting this vid…. It’s a great opportunity for the world to see how silly your fairy tale really is. Keep on shouting from the rooftops, every village needs an idiot. Makes it entertaining for the rest of us.”
parasitegemini: “Some sort of heart-cringing/warming creationism rally type video I guess. It loses the point with the song; inferring the school is where Satan and the enemies reside. I didn’t know all college campus’ were Satanic in nature!”
I have to admit, after watching this video, I’m almost convinced that the theory of evolution is true. Wow! You won’t believe it, Good Christian, but this pretty much confirms Darwinism as fact.
WARNING: It doesn’t make much sense, has a few bad words (remember, he is an atheist), and there is some projectile vomiting. Other than that, it’s pretty entertaining video and reinforces my belief that those who don’t believe in God have little to stand on.
Here are some of the observations that 17-year-old Peter Johnson made of the video:
1. Science is knowledge. Ray has observed facts about the obvious design in the banana and in the universe in general and has come to the conclusion that there must be a God. (more…)
Paul Latour, an evangelist from the Canadian frozen north, posted this amazing feat at his blog, The Word Street Journal. I guarantee you’ve never seen anything like it…
I met a young lady named Kelly the other day while getting the oil changed in my car. I offered her a million dollar bill gospel tract and asked if she would go to Heaven or Hell. She replied that she would be going to Heaven because she was confirmed as a Catholic. After taking her through the 10 Commandments she understood that she would be found guilty on Judgment Day because she had lied, but didn’t steal, misused God’s name and hated, which is murder according to the Bible, and would end up in Hell because of her sin.
Kelly disagreed with me that she would be going to Hell because she was confirmed as a Catholic.
I asked Kelly what she did for a living and she hung her head. “You won’t approve of what I do….”
“No, really, I won’t judge you,” I assured.
“I’m a producer,” Kelly admitted. “I produce a program on Showtime called “Penn and Teller’s Bulls—.”
If you are not familiar with Penn and Teller, they are illusionists who perform their irreverent magic act regularly in Las Vegas and major venues around the world. Both guys are very outspoken about being atheists and skeptics, and use their atheism as part of their act.
In an interview, Teller (the silent half of the team) said, “My mother, who is 89 now, says: ‘Oh, you know, I see these old people going to church, and I really envy them. It must be so consoling for them to be able to believe in that stuff.’ (Laughs) I think she genuinely envies people who are suckers in the sense that there are some things that might be a little easier to confront. It’s not going to change her point of view, because it doesn’t make any sense to her. It seems like nonsense. And it is!” (Laughs)
Penn (the talkative half) said, “We were asked to do autographs for Donny and Marie. I wrote, ‘There is no god,’ and Teller wrote: ‘He’s right.’”
Penn was a big hit awhile ago in the Christian community because of a short video he did commending those who share their faith, saying at one point, “How much do you have to hate someone not to proselytize?” It has been viewed over 372,000 times on YouTube and it seems that Penn actually likes those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the only One who can save anyone from their sins, if they would repent and put their trust in Him.
Alas, that is sadly not the case. When Penn was informed that his video was a great encouragement to Christians, and it caused many to be more bold in their witness, he stated that that was not the purpose of his video. In fact, listen to him tell the story of a few Christians who tried to give him the Gospel and how each of them left with a copy of atheist Christopher Hitchens book, “God is not Great.” (Unfortunately, at this re-edit, the video is only available to his “friends.”)
Which brings me back to producer Kelly. “Will you do me a favor?” I gently asked her. I pulled out another million dollar bill Gospel tract. “I’m going to write a little message on this bill. Would you mind giving it to Penn when you see him?” She said that she would. I wrote this: Saw your YouTube video about Christians. —Just doin’ my job. Then I left my email address.
What good will it do? “It” will do nothing. But who knows how our awesome God might use the words of His law on a simple Gospel tract to turn a hardened atheist into a vessel for his Kingdom.
Oftentimes people who are too proud to be talked with, will read a tract when no one is looking. There is many a man who would repulse you if you tried to speak to him about his soul, who will read a tract if you leave it on his table, or in some other place where he comes upon it accidentally, and that tract may be used for his salvation.
A tract will often succeed in winning a man to Christ where a sermon or a personal conversation has failed. There are a great many people who, if you try to talk with them, will put you off; but if you put a tract in their hands and ask God to bless it, after they go away and are alone they will read the tract and God will carry it home to their hearts by the power of the Holy Ghost.
I once received a letter from a man saying, “There is a man in this place whom I tried for a long time to reach but could not. One day I handed him a tract, and I think it was to the salvation of his whole family.
It’s been incredibly hot here in SoCal—almost a million degrees over the weekend! This is indeed a dry and thirsty land…. We are in the midst of a 3-4 year dought; wildfires are breaking out everywhere, and evangelists are trying desperately to douse the perishing with Living Water, which most refuse.
In light of all this, how about a very short and funny video on pool bloopers? It has nothing to do with sharing our faith, but might provide a refreshing respite on these long dog days of summer.
I will be at the Ambassadors Academy for the next several days leading a team of very committed evangelists, including one very zealous Amish man who has a true heart for the lost. This time we have 66 people coming from all over the world including Deborah Drapper and her dad from the excellent BBC documentary, “Deborah 13: Servant of God; and 11 staff members from Creation Science Evangelism.
In the meantime, if you’ve never heard evangelist Mark Cahill speak, now’s the time. (For my sermon, “Sudden Death”, I borrowed his finger-snapping gimmick….)
I’m re-posting this for members of Hope Chapel who wanted to see the video again after it was shown five times at a recent weekend service.
This disturbing video is a call to preach and procreate. If you aren’t married yet, may I encourage you to do the former?
Remember that it is so important to give the Gospel. Here it is:
Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Have you looked with lust? Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell.
God, who the Bible says is “rich in mercy,” sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for guilty sinners. We broke God’s Law, but Jesus paid our fine. That means He can legally dismiss our case. He can commute our death sentence: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and God will grant everlasting life to all, who trust in Jesus, then read your Bible daily and obey it.
If you aren’t hooked in the first 2 minutes of this BBC Special, then you have no heart. Deborah, age 13, has such a burden for the lost that she is totally committed to doing whatever it takes to bring them the Good News of Jesus Christ. She is an adherent of “The Way of the Master” and is unflinching in her resolve to warn of the Judgment to come. I was completely inspired and re-fired after watching this secular television report magnify the Gospel.
This is a 6-part presentation; each segment is 10 minutes long. After watching the first episode, simply click the “Read the rest of this entry” link below and you’ll be able to access the remaining 5 parts. Due to some thematic elements, I’d rate this PG.(For higher quality, click the video screen twice to go directly to YouTube, then enlarge the screen.)
This Saturday we will head on down to Huntington Beach to share our faith alongside Ray Comfort. Meet at Hope Chapel at noon; we will leave promptly at 12:30.
Did you see Ray on New Zealand’s “60 Minutes” program? Of course not, most of you live in the USA. Well, here it is anyway:
Every person who shares their faith has had this happen to them: Someone just up and leaves before you are finished talking to them. What do you do? Chase them down? Shout after them? Call them a name?
If you haven’t subscribed yet to The Way of the Master weekly newsletter then you are missing out. Each issue provides excellent evangelistic tips and resources, including these videos that I will post every week. I’m learning a lot by watching Ray Comfort handle his various interviewees. Subscription info is provided on each video.
He’s my very good friend, a co-leader of our evangelism team at Hope Chapel, and an Ambassadors’ Academy mentor, and he will be interviewed tonight by Tony Miano on Blog Talk Radio at 8PM. Ed will be talking about his life as a Morman before he came to Christ three years ago, and how to reach them. His entire family is still involved in the Morman cult, so this should be interesting listening.
Ed was a brand new Christian, only four months in the Lord, when I asked him to take our very first evangelism class at Hope Chapel, Hermosa Beach. He heard “Hell’s Best Kept Secret,” came out with our evangelism teams… and the rest is history. Ed also has a pastoral gift and the gift of mercy, so much so that his evangelistic nickname is “Rev Ed.” I love this guy and you will, too.
By the way, if you have Season 3 of the “Way of the Master” video series, he’s the guy at the end of the western episode (Episode #38, “What Scares You?”) coiling and uncoiling the rope, over and over again, over and over again. His second nickname is “Roper.”
Ray Comfort, Tony Miano, and myself celebrated Christmas night—like we always do—by heading upstairs to the third floor ballroom of Living Waters headquarters, where we unwound from a hard year of sharing our faith by doing a little disco groovin’. Unfortunately, some atheists from The National Enquirer were suspended from a rope on a crane just outside the window, where they secretly shot some embarassing footage. They threatened to expose our partying selves by selling the footage to TMZ if we didn’t give them a million dollars. We gave in to their demands and I now own the footage. Here it is:
