Stealing Thunder

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013

The evangelism team attended the “Violence Against Women Protest,” a largely anti-capitalist, anti-men, anti-American rally that made their case known by shouting, screaming, yelling and shrieking.

The only thing they were for was the murder of the unborn.

God gave me the presence of mind to pack about three hundred 180Movie DVDs before the event and another 600 pro-life tracts that are disguised as World War 2 Trivia.

Then we hijacked the protest.

I walked fifty yards ahead of the angry mob who chanted their “Womens’ rights” slogans while carrying a cross. I decided to affix the 180Movie.com stickers to the cross when I noticed many photographers—probably from alternative publications—shooting me and the rest of the team as we held it up high.

A secondary team passed out our covert pro-life tracts to all the spectators—and nearly everyone took them! Why? We simply announced that they contained info on “Womens’ rights issues.”

A baby woman’s right to live.

50 million+: “Abortion is About God” (my new class)

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

The new category on Mondays (in addition to the Sudden Death articles), will be “50 Million+”; that is the estimated number of babies that have been aborted since the disastrous Roe V. Wade decision in 1973. Not only will this blog teach about how to save souls, it will also instruct on how to save lives.

Since seeing the 180Movie a year ago, it has been on my heart to do something to help the unborn. To that end I will be teaching a class in February. See the information below the 2 minute video.

My new class is called, “Abortion is About God: Reframing a Moral Issue” by John Piper.

This 8 week course will aim to provide a God-centered, Biblical and theological foundation for the pro-life cause. In addition to asserting that abortion is fundamentally an offense to the glory of the Creator, the curriculum will celebrate the sovereignty of God over all of life, will lift up the gifts of children and parenthood and proclaim the mercy freely offered to all through the Gospel.

If you are interested in being a part of this endeavor, please click here and scroll down to the sign up area for my class.

It’s 180 Wednesday!

Sudden Death: Abortion Procedure

Sunday, July 29th, 2012

Planned Parenthood of Illinois offered condolences Sunday to the family of a 24-year-old Chicago woman who died after having an abortion at one of its clinics. Read the rest here.

“Abortion should not only be safe and legal, it should be rare.” —BILL CLINTON, speech at DNC, Aug. 29, 1996
(Sadly, only one of those are true.)

The death toll in Japan from the March 11th earthquake is 23,000 and climbing.

The death toll in the U.S. from abortions performed by Planned Parenthood since March 11th is 461,053.

Death toll estimates based on Planned Parenthood performing 332,278 abortions in 2009. That’s an average of one death every 95 seconds. (From www.ThatsAbortion.com)

Hard Truth Told

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

And from the DefCon Blog:

I wonder if the murder of these 248 children will get as much attention (including around the clock news coverage) as the Colorado murders. Methinks the answer, sadly, is no.

Why? Because murdering 12 people in a movie theater is a crime, but murdering 248 children in their mothers’ womb is a “choice.”

The Pro-Life Evangelistic Imperative

Friday, July 20th, 2012

After seeing this photo from Ground Zero I was reminded why we need to keep the pro-life issue in the forefront of our evangelistic endeavors.

I handed each of our evangelism team leaders a handful of these 180 Movie tracts and exhorted them to start up a conversation using these questions:

1. Who are these two men?

2. What countries do they represent?

3. What year did the U.S. enter the war?

4. It’s 1943. A German officer has a gun pointed at you. He wants you to get into a bulldozer and drive it forward. In front of the bulldozer is a pit in which there are 300 Jews who have just been shot. Some of them are still alive. He wants you to bury them alive! If you don’t do what he says, he is going to kill you and do it himself. Would you drive it forward? Of course not; you value human life.

5. How then do you feel about abortion? Perhaps you don’t think it’s a human being in the womb. Hitler said the Jews weren’t human–so that he could justify killing them. And besides, you don’t know when life begins, right?

After talking a bit with them about life and death, it’s a very easy transition to asking them this: If you died today, would you go to Heaven or Hell?

With every evangelistic endeavor, we have an opportunity to save lives…and souls!

Here’s an example of how this can be done. (Please ignore my erroneous Beethoven “fact”.)

It’s 180 Wednesday! The Sword-Swallower

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Some people find the 180Movie hard to swallow.  At our recent excursion to the Doo Dah Parade, this sword-swallower was more than happy to plug, Gulp! a pro-life position! (See it at 180Movie.com)

180 Wednesday: A Baby Saved!

180 Movie Wednesday: At Pink’s World Famous Hot Dogs!

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

Every second Wednesday of the month is 180 Movie Wednesday. I will try to have an interesting pro-life post or video on these days in the future. We handed out the hottest movie on the internet (nearly 3 million hits!) while at World Famous Pink’s Hot Dogs a couple of weeks ago. What was the response? (Read what happened when my daughters and I visited a murder chamber several months ago here.)

180 Movie: Beverly Hills…Cop?

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

I got a text from Ray Comfort. He needed a team to hand out the 180 Movie at Beverly Hills High School. Would I do it? He planned on having other teams pass out this DVD at high schools in Hollywood and Burbank as well because the potential rich and famous go there. They might influence the current generation to be pro-life and pro-God.

Knowing how important this 33 minute film was in saving babies’ lives and adult souls, I said I would try but was warned by a former Beverly Hills cop that this city was not like other cities; they play by a different set of rules.

Tony Miano, Director of the Ambassadors’ Alliance, the “on the street” training arm of Comfort’s ministry, cautioned that in his reconnaissance of the area he was told by a Security guard at the school that the police would swoop down on us in a matter of minutes when they find out what we were doing.

Ray thought that we would only be able to get rid of only a few copies before we were busted.

So what ended up happening?

The usual. God intervened and not one problem arose.

One mom in a Mazerati grabbed  her copy, as did many parents who were there to pick up their kids.

Best of all, hundreds of teens took copies of this film that will, hopefully, change the heart of our nation from a culture of death to one of life.

What did we say to get these predominantly Jewish students to want a copy? “Take this DVD that is about the Holocaust and a very important women’s issue.”

Everyone was grateful.

Well, almost everyone.

Why the 180 Movie giveaway was so important

Friday, October 28th, 2011

In answering one of the many atheists who can’t fully understand why it was so important for us to get the 180 Movie into as many hands as possible, (per the giveaway at USC, where we handed out 2,000 copies),  I am posting this comment from my friend, Lindsey, with her permission as she answers this atheist’s assertions.

I am one of the 50% that you speak of that survived being born at 28 weeks.

My twin sister and I were 3 months early. I weighed 2lbs and my sister only 1lb. My dad’s wedding ring could fit down our arm. I do not refer to my sister nor myself as an “it” and with God’s grace we do not have ANY of the life long problems that you listed.

You also mention “many people simply do not have the financial resources to deal with kids with these problems.” My parents received donations from people she didn’t even know. I am thankful that my mother did not abort my sister and I.

We are not accidents and neither are you. God has a plan and a purpose for everyone. In your previous post you indicated that our planet can only support a finite number of people and we are rapidly approaching that limit. I recently lost my baby at 19 weeks and it was not an abortion. I would give anything to still be pregnant right now and add my baby to the billions of this earth. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it.

Did you know that w/ partial birth abortions there is a mechanism stuck into the baby’s brain to scramble it until it dies? If somebody did that to you or somebody else do you not call that murder? It is purely for selfish reasons to abort a baby. There are always other options.

Steve’s note: I was driving with a friend the other night to the movies when he told me a shocking truth: His mom told him a few years ago that she was going to abort him during her pregnancy. She was encountering many troubles in her marriage and other situations and didn’t think she could handle another child (she had several). She changed her mind, thankfully.

My good friend and I had a great time at the movies together.

SUCCESS! 2,000 Copies of 180 Movie Given Away at USC

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

The proof is in the puddin’ photo. Those that needed to see the 180 Movie most (in other words, everyone) got a copy of this stunning and shocking 33 minute documentary. Obviously, some people need to see this movie more than others.

Our team of eight handed out two thousand copies in about two hours with no hassle. To give them away we said:

  • “Check it out! Over one million viewings on YouTube!”
  • “Here ya go. Save a woman’s life!”
  • “See the number one cause of death for black Americans.”
  • “This DVD deals with a very important issue for women.”

USC Security came by when we had about 100 copies left. Since we didn’t have a permit he told us to stop…but gave us an additional five minutes to finish up. We did.

Here’s hoping that the more liberal-minded on this campus would rethink their position on whether it is a woman’s right to choose to murder her baby. Watch the unbridled enthusiasm of those who received their free copies:

Why black Americans need to hand out the “180″ movie

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The “180″ movie has impacted my life greatly. As a result of seeing it, I took my two young daughters to an abortion clinic in Long Beach, one of the largest murdering mills in the country I understand, and learned a little about how to start a pro-life ministry. Read about our visit by clicking here.

I then reflected on this issue and wrote a personal testimony about how this issue affected my life in the past. (Read that article here.)

If you haven’t yet seen the film then click here to watch.

Here’s another reason why it needs to be seen…

Atheist Tuesday: I, too, was blind like you

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Some atheist responses to my pro-life post from yesterday:

“It doesn’t occur to you that our planet can only support a finite number of people and we are rapidly approaching that limit, does it? …Forgive me if I don’t want to risk the planet and the human species just because you have a problem with abortion and birth control.”

“Stop beating around the bush. Just say it. You think we’re Nazis. You’ve gone completely bonkers and think that allowing a woman the choice to abort her child is even remotely equivalent to a broad plan to wipe out a race of people.”

“I am not for abortion as a form of birth control, but I am not going to say we need to outlaw it because there are valid reasons for abortion.”

It was at a Singles Retreat, three months after I committed my life to Jesus, that a petition was passed around from table to table in the dining room. A new abortion clinic was ready for business in my city and I was asked to sign the petition in opposition to it’s opening.

I refused. “I can’t sign it,” I protested, “I am for abortion.”

I still remember the reaction I received from the believers sitting around me: none. No one took me aside to straighten me out. Not one person wagged a finger. No disgusted looks were hurled in my direction.

I was shown grace that day.

As a new believer I was still conditioned to the calloused thinking of the world: “Life did not begin at conception but at some arbitrary time in the future.” “It was a woman’s right to choose.” “Since it really isn’t a baby yet, it’s not murder.”

As a result of my evolutionary mindset at the time I could not discern truth from error. I was blind, cold, heartless.

My beliefs—before Christ—contributed to at least three infant deaths during my years of indiscretion. I never had to rationalize that it was right because I never thought about it at all.

It was more convenient that way. (more…)

Sudden Deaths: The Killing Fields Just Down the Street

Monday, October 17th, 2011

I drove past the innocuous looking building located just a few miles from my home. Making a quick U-turn I parked just up the street from the entrance. A solitary man looked like he was praying as he walked slowly up and down the sidewalk in front of the medical offices.

“This is where they perform the abortions,” I said to my beautiful and precious nine and twelve-year-old daughters who had accompanied me on this trip.

Two women exited. One was weeping as they both hurriedly walked to the parking lot.

The praying man told us it’s busiest on Wednesdays and Fridays when they perform the “surgical procedures.”

“Daddy,” my oldest daughter exclaimed. “It’s called Family Planning Associates Medical Group. Why did they name it that?”

“Because,” I gently explained, “it sounds better than advertising that it’s a place to murder your child.”

Abortion Services provided by Family Planning Associates Medical Group

Abortion Pill (“At home” abortion)1 $525.00
Surgical Abortion up to 13 weeks1
with General Anesthesia $450.00
with Local Anesthesia $425.00

19.5 to 21.5 weeks $2,165.00

The topic of abortion will now  be a regular addition to my evangelism efforts. See the 180Movie by clicking here.

180 Movie Giveaway: Ray Comfort Beat My Record (or did he?)

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

As you know, the stunning and shocking film, “180″ (180Movie.com) has been out for several weeks and it’s making a huge impact on people who’ve seen it. Since watching this 33 minute movie, I am now incorporating abortion as a topic of discussion in my evangelism efforts. Also, I just discovered that there is an abortion mill down the street from where I live; I will be visiting there soon. In addition, I am now praying about how to start up a Pro-life ministry at our church Hope Chapel—all because I watched this film.

It is so important to get copies of this DVD into the hands of as many people as possible. It’s easy and fun to do, too. Maybe you will want to join the competition:

Last week, after watching a staffer at Ray Comfort’s ministry hand out ten DVDs in nine minutes, I handed out 12 copies in about one minute. Ray Comfort then took up the challenge and smoked me, handing out 15 copies in—11 seconds! 11 seconds! Watch his video below but please understand that his victory was short-lived.

My challenge was to hand out 16 copies in under FIVE seconds. If I did this, Ray’s record would be thoroughly crushed— no one could ever, ever beat it. Could I do it? Judge for yourself….

But that ain’t all. Continue reading for something really, really, shocking. In fact, I surprised myself when this happened! (more…)

Handing Out the “180″ Movie (and how I beat a Ray Comfort staffer)

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

Eddie Roman, editor and cameraman from Living Waters (Ray Comfort’s ministry), made this excellent video on how to hand out the powerful anti-abortion documentary “180″ (see it here) and what to say when you do it. He handed out 10 copies in just under nine minutes with very little effort.

I thought I could do it in even less time.

First, watch Eddie’s video then watch mine to see how I smoked him by a whopping EIGHT minutes. Eddie has promised to beat my record. Stay tuned. (Maybe you’ll try to beat both our efforts. Only a dollar a DVD when you get 10 copies. Click here for info.)

Here’s the record-shattering evidence: 1:13:33 minutes!

UPDATE: RAY COMFORT JUST INFORMED ME THAT HE HANDED OUT 15 DVDS IN 22 SECONDS. GAME ON!!!

The “180″ Movie at Hope Chapel

Friday, September 30th, 2011

We are setting up a table tonight during our four services at Hope Chapel that will display the “180″ movie (click here to see it). We purchased a 1,000 copies and will be offering it for sale for one buck. Our hope is that many congregants will buy a quantity and give them to their pro-choice friends.

We will show a two minute promo before the service to whet the appetite of those who have not yet heard about this award winning film.

We have also set up a little “Honor System” box for those who buy the DVD. This film is the most important resource that Ray Comfort’s ministry has ever created. Not only does it have the potential to save souls, but also may save millions of babies’ lives when their mothers do a “180″ in their thinking about abortion. (more…)

The “180″ Movie Internet Missionary (and how you can be one, too!)

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

There are lots of ways that you can be an Internet Missionary and get the word out about the powerful new 180 movie which has the potential to save millions of pre-born lives. (The film is posted at the end of this article.) Help the film go viral in many different ways, one of which the man below is doing. (And a big thanks to the atheist who sent me this photo which inspired me to write this article.)

What’s he doing? Well, after hearing from my friend John on Facebook it turns out that he’s NOT clicking on the link to the film many times which increases the viewership ratings, which puts the video at the top of search engines and will hopefully be featured on YouTube’s home page. It’s actually wallpaper which reminds us to get the word out about this film to as many people as possible. (As of this posting there are more than 4000,000 visits to the video since it debuted last Sunday.)

You can also do these other things if you are against abortion and love babies, both born and pre-born: (more…)
