Billy Sunday Preached His Last Sermon on This Day

Billy Sunday’s last sermon was on October 27, 1935.

Regardless of what you thought of his controversial methods, God used  former baseball player Billy Sunday to preach to more than 100 million people in his lifetime. According to The One Year Book of Christian History: “His unorthodox preaching style, acrobatic antics, and flamboyant gestures attracted the press, making him a household name.”

At the climax of his sermons on Sundays, he invited members of his audience to “walk the sawdust trail” to the front when they would make a commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

Ten days after preaching his last sermon he died.

It’s amazing the people God will use, regardless of what we think of the person.

If not for the revival that Billy helped fan, I am convinced, that America would have become a puppet of Germany or at the least a nazi-stste and Israel would not have been born.

    God truly is amazing.
