    What is that saying?

    Music soothes the savage atheist?

    I was watching the dog whisperer on youtube and I thought, I wish I could soothe the atheists like Ceasar soothes those angry dogs.

        1. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

        2. The preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. But to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.

        3. Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

        Hi Glenn,

        What you propose as “a big helping of honesty” is simply selected lines of scripture from your holy book; a Muslim would present their own preferred lines of scripture from their holy book.

        My question is this: what would be your response if I posted some surahs from the Qur’an as “a big helping of honesty”? If your answer is along the lines of “I’d shrug and pretty much ignore it”, then I’m confused as to why you’d think this would mean anything to someone who doesn’t already view the Bible as inerrant.

        What’s your opinion?

        (By the way, I am neither a Jew nor a Greek, so the last item doesn’t apply to me. 😉 )

        Interesting point about that verse, if you read it carefully, you’ll note that it doesn’t actually call atheists fools: it calls fools atheists.

        “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no god.”

        This is a pretty important distinction. It’s reads to me like the author is saying “those who are foolish do not believe in God, for if they believed they would not be fools”, rather than the Living Waters interpretation of “atheists == dipshits”.

        I’ll need to check out a few other translations of that verse. I wonder if the original Hebrew had that ambiguity in it?

    These types of “debates” will continue untill the Lord returns! Ultimately they prove nothing, and in the end nobody will have a change of heart.
    Since God’s ways are beyond our understanding, He does what He wants, how He wants, when He wants!!

    Mr. Jones comes off with a haughty, I’m a good person attitude which will ultimately get him a trip to Hell. He needs to learn that God is Spirit an must be known as such.
    The bottom line is as follows:
    “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:14 ESV)
    Trust me Jim, He is risen! He is risen INDEED!

      I think it’s one thing to trust someone to be honest in what they’re saying, and it’s a completely different thing to trust someone to be correct in what they’re saying.

      For example, if a child is in a car, driving on a hot desert road, and tells his parents that he sees water on the road, it’s okay to trust the child that he honestly sees what he thinks is water on the road, but it’s not okay to trust that the child is correct. In this example, there really isn’t water on the road; it’s a mirage.

      So, when you say “trust me”, I can extend trust to you in you being honest about what you think, but I can’t extend trust to you in being correct; more than just “trust me” is needed for the existence of a supernatural being that I cannot independently verify, much less whether or not he is “risen”.

      Makes sense?

      Steve L, Jim claimed that Einstein was likely an atheist. You asked him to support that conclusion. Then he posted his source that stated, very unambiguously, that Einstein was ‘likely an atheist.’

      So, recap.
      Jim: …Einstein was likely an atheist
      Steve L: Support that statement (inferring the statement above ‘likely an atheist’)
      Jim: *supports his claim with a source stating that Einstein was likely an atheist*

      Steve L: Sorry, you didn’t prove it.

      Do you understand it yet?

    I look forward to Atheist Tuesday. I am learning a lot about the Atheist mindset. I’m sorry to say that they way they act in here has given me a more negative view of them. I’m still praying for them.

      Tone, there is no such thing as “THE atheist mindset”; each atheist has his or her own, completely independent, mindset. Viewing us as a group with like-minds is a mistake.

      Having said that, the best way you can learn about us is to talk to us with honesty and understanding that your current view about atheists might be completely wrong.

      I didn’t know it was possible to have wrong ‘opinions’ usually an opinion isn’t a statement of facts, its usually an assertion of a feeling one has about a particular topic, thus making it impossible to be wrong. Much like when Rush Limbaugh gets his opinions ‘audited’ they’re 99.6% correct. When the statement you make contains an account of an event or mathmatical proof, or whatever then you can be in a better position to judge whether or not its true or not.

    As this whole God business is just an opinion, why should anyone trust you on it. Lots of people have opinions, unless they also have evidence they should be ignored. In my opinion anyway.

      I don’t care about your opinion Mr. Sanchez. In fact I think opinions are completely worthless unless you can support them; opinions are sort of like writing an essay, you get marked on not what you say but how you support it.

      Therefore you may say what you want Mr. Sanchez, but in the end you still hold the burden of proof ON YOUR SHOULDERS, and until you fulfill that burden of proof you are losing marks very fast.

    I’d be interested to see a post or a video that chronicles a typical day in your life. Also, why not have an intern, student, or your daughters update the site? I am sure you write a post on paper and they can transcribe it and update it.

    That wasn’t my question Steve, I never specifically referenced The Way of the Master, I meant your actions directly. And the actions of Steve L. Glenn, Schmader, et al. How effective are your and there actions at bringing the lost closer to Jesus.

    Note I specifically ask about bringing people to Jesus, not about shouting at them and calling them names.

    Remember I ask this in the light of Ray’s own article at Living Waters dot com that he can’t point to a single person his blog converted in it’s lifetime, and the only example he can give is that some atheists ‘asked him not to stop’.

    The question isn’t about ‘is the way of the master biblical’, or ‘is the way of the master useful’ it’s about actually bringing the lost to Jesus.

    Please don’t repeat the last time and pretend to answer the question by refusing to actually answer it and answering something else entirely.
