    And yet again, you leave out the third viable option.

    Neither. Without the electrical stimulus of my nervous system, my brain would cease functioning, and I would be gone. (I hope to not literally be “in the grave,” though, as that’s a waste of a 4×7 chunk of ground – donation to a medical school is a much better option; cremation, if that isn’t available.)

    And, because I’m an adult, this doesn’t frighten me. If you need “legacy” or a continuing presence, I raised three great kids, so there’s that.

    Why be frightened of death? Everything ends. That’s like watching a movie and fearing the closing credits.

    is contradicted with: “There is no third viable option”

    Vin listed the third viable option that I would give: Neither. Since you don’t accept that as an answer, I am not in your intended demographic. Your intended demographic for the “Good Person Test” (which is what I’m talking about, not for evangelism as a whole) are people who believe that people go to either Heaven or Hell.

    That’s the whole point of the “Good Person Test”; your demographic are people who think that they are good people, and that’s why they think they’ll go to Heaven.

    The “Good Person Test” does not work on people who view “Neither, because there is no evidence of the existence of a Heaven or Hell” as a viable third option.

    Therefore, we are not in your intended demographic.

    Just for the record, saying that someone is refusing to learn? Isn’t too persuasive. It also makes you look like a wannabe mind-reader, which it certainly appears that you guys enjoy doing, but that is even less persuasive.

    Because you’re not successful at it.

    For the record, if I was trying to teach you… oh, let’s say about the Intelligent Design movement, or what the theory of evolution actually claims… and you refused to learn? I think I’d just quit after a while.

    He gets bonus points for persisting stubbornly in the face of logic; he gets a better chair in the Heavenly Choir, and a fasttracked for promotion from angel to archangel (it’s a better career track in the company of Heaven…)
