Eye on the prize? There is only one object our eyes should be stayed on: Jesus Christ Lord. If we have accepted him as Saviour and fully submitted to him, his light / life / love will fill us to overflowing, touching all we come into contact with. There is no need for classes / props / things: our sharing will be the natural outcropping of that which has filled us up! Study the first century church: they grew in the grace and truth of Christ and unbelievers were amazed and drawn to them because of their love for each other and those on the outside.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do believe that like you wrote, people WILL be naturally drawn to Christians because of our love and that they see that "something" that is different in our lives that they will want, too. Steve tells of an example of that very thing in one of his messages he preached at his church. Just paraphrasing from memory but Steve had a neighbor (not sure how close) that saw that love, that overflow in him and in his family that the neighbor recognized he did not have in his own life. The guy actually came to Steve. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks later, the neighbor was dead. There was no real time after the conversation to develop a relation to show him the love of Christ.

If you were driving along, and saw a major crash -- no one else was there but you and the crash victims. You grab the cell, dial 911 and call for help. You plead for them to hurry because you see the victims don't have much time . . . they are actually dying. You quickly see what's happening but you are not sure whether these folks are saved or not -- or you quickly determine "not saved" by what they are saying. You realize in three minutes, these people will be dead. What do you say to them? You don't have any time to develop any relationship with them to get to a place where you can share the salvation plan. I am sure they would see the love of Jesus as you look at them, realizing they are dying, saw the love in you as you called 911 for them, but again, you have three minutes left to share the gospel.

In this scenario, this is why training to share the gospel is so important. If you have been taught, you can very quickly and strategically share the important elements to salvation. Whether you are a kiddo, in the middle years, closer to the backside of life (like me, now over 50) and even those who have retired and are well along in years, sound training makes you an effective witness. You may say, "That sounds so clinical. The love of Christ should just flow from us. God will give us the right words to say at that moment" It can sound very clinical. But like a doctor who has a cure, we have a sick world to reach out to, and most times, no time to show most people the love we have in us. Sharing in a resturant with wait staff, or on a convenience store clerk, whatever situation we have, it is sooo fast. A clear, concise plan of action can plant a seed or completely lead a person to repentance.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you, I'm not . . . I just think sound training can help, too.

However we reach out to the lost . . . how can the lost hear if no one goes to them? Sounds like each of us here are all trying to do our part in reaching those who are headed for hell.
