(Since I left my Sudden Death! clippings at my office I am forced to re-post my favorite article from two years ago.)
A dairy owner died when his tractor sank into a manure pit, Fresno County authorities said.

Jose Iraizoz, 64, was riding his tractor between two open pits when the wheels apparently slipped into about 5 feet of sludge. By the time help arrived, Iraizoz had been in the manure too long to have survived, Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Padilla said. —L.A. Times, July 14, 2006
Eeeewwwwhhhhhh!
Can’t imagine going out like that… suffocating on Cow dung… yuck!
Chalk that up as yet another reason to watch out for massive feedlots. Five feet deep of manure in pits means they’ve got several thousand animals there, and they’re not getting their nutrition from a pasture.
Now Robert, I’ve talked to you before about your knowledge of things… How in the world do you know about feedlots and manure piles? :>)
I second Doug!
Driving from Boulder, CO to Chicagoland past Greeley and through Nebraska and Iowa, one sees the results of monstrous feedlots. Plus I read a Dave Barry column about a hog doot cannon that shoots the stuff about a quarter mile to apply it to fields. :^)
Maybe the Israelis should use it against Hezbollah….
that was aconfined space accident. the driver has died because of oxygen depleted air in the manure. the organic material oxydation generates oxygen depleted air that may contation Co2 and methane. The worker probably has died by asphyxiation in oxygen depleted air.
may I get the complete report in this accident?
